One location, 3 decors
The Ivy Chelsea restaurant offers three different decors: the main room in a Brasserie style with “sink-into sofas”; the Orangery “greenhouse” and of course the garden as its name suggests.
On my first visit, my husband and I had a table in the greenhouse and the room was warmed with a log fire and surrounded by many plants. A-we-so-me!
This is actually my favorite place to eat as it’s very romantic in the winter and perfectly exotic in the summer!
The garden is also beautiful with a fountain in the middle, exotic plants all around…
and a fire as well as blankets in the winter …
It’s quite incredible to eat in such a place as you can’t help but think it’s a real gem in the heart of London.
When I came back in May to enjoy the nearby Chelsea Flower Show with my kids, we sat comfortably in the main indoor restaurant.
I love the colors and the french brasserie style there…
A modern British Brasserie restaurant
The Ivy’s menu offers a wide choice of traditional dishes with international influences.
Our meals were always tasty, fresh and well-presented. The seared yellowfin tuna was delicious, with the mix of crispy sesame seeds, tender edamame and tangy taste from the mandarin.
The line caught swordfish was also excellent with its fragrances from the south: olives, red peppers, lemon and basil.
As May was quite hot, I tasted the chicken and bacon salad which was pleasantly refreshing and nourishing at the same time…
Ivy’s famous dessert: the Chocolate Bomb
The perfect black and white dessert that made its mark! So pure in its dark sphere shape, delicate inside, and surprising when the hot caramel is poured over it!
You will discover the inside salty praline mousse only after the “chocolate bomb” has exploded… and taste some fizzy elements that will also surprise you!
This (repeated) experience was a sheer delight! I obviously recommend the Ivy Chelsea Garden to anyone who fancies atypical places with various atmospheres and great food.
I can only suggest to reserve a table as far in advance of your planned visit in order to avoid any disappointment… Enjoy!
