4 reasons to wander in Mayfair at Christmas!

Christmas is in the air. And it is always gorgeous in London, as  Christmas traditions are always taken seriously here. I had a glance at the Christmas decorations in Mayfair lately. This area offered me some nice surprises and may inspire you for a Christmas walk…

Christmas Wreaths

The tradition of wreaths has been going on for long, encouraging many of us to adorn our doors at this period of the year. It is also a great opportunity to admire London in a whole new light…
The wreaths are in all colors and styles, placed on doors or hanging like this one above in front of The Ritz.
Christmas spirit gives us a sense of creativity!

Inspired storefronts

Mayfair is obviously well-known for its luxury stores and this walk in the neighborhood was the occasion to check the Christmas atmosphere there.
Most of the places are quite (surprisingly) discrete, I shall say. Some were particularly inspired by the winter season…
Some others show interest in mixing baubles and nature in a more extravagant way…
I felt more attracted by the delicate decoration of this brand…
Some storefronts are quite tempting, with the traditional hood of Father Christmas waiting for us at the front of the store!
Fortnum and Mason on Piccadilly Street is always a pleasure for the eyes in December.
I really enjoy discovering the way they get inspired by Christmas, combining tradition and modernity.

Streets lights

London streets are filled with lights at Christmas and Mayfair is not the least to shine.
The streets are decorated with various designs that come to life in the night…
Bond Street is of course decorated at its best to celebrate Christmas…
On south of Mayfair, the Arcades on Piccadilly Street are sumptuous.Again, the Ritz is always on top, when it comes to celebrating Christmas.

Mayfair highlights

Mayfair is not only a place for luxury shops. It also counts incredible museums : the Handel & Hendrix museum is perfect for the fans of these musicians and the Royal Academy of Arts is a must for Art lovers.
I have had the opportunity to present you several restaurants in this blog which are located in Mayfair: The awesome Sketch, the memorable Galvin at Windows, or the exotic Gaucho for meat lovers…

Mayfair is quite an interesting neighborhood and Christmas makes it even more attractive. Did you have a look at Mayfair lately? What did you think about it?
