A spooky Halloween experience at Cammas Hall Farm!

Whether you are a Halloween fan or just mad about pumpkin pies/cakes/soups, Cammas Hall Farm is the place to be at this time of year!
We had pre-booked our tickets for a Halloween Experience & Pumpkin Patch and headed to the farm during the half-term holidays on a sunny morning. This family day out was lots of fun (& fear!) and everyone came back with a furious desire to carve their pumpkin in the spookiest way!
Today, DOYOUSPEAKLONDON brings you to Cammas Hall Farm for a special Halloween adventure.

Cammas Hall Farm is located in the beautiful countryside of the Hertfordshire/Essex border. It is easy to reach from the M11 and halfway between London and Cambridge.

This family-owned farm became in 1966 one of the pioneering PYO farms of the era. All year long, you can pick your fruits (berries, cherries, sweetcorn, depending on the season) and vegetables with the pleasure of understanding nature and its seasons, and feeling more in tune with it 🙂

Life is gourd!

For us, it was all about pumpkins and we intended to find the best ones that would end up in the scariest pumpkin carving!

Halloween experience at Cammas Hall Farm

In recent years, Cammas Hall Farm has developed seasonal entertaining activities to attract new visitors and ensure the farm’s future. This is how I heard about the place on Instagram and planned to visit it one day with my family.

We did not know to what extent the “Halloween experience” would be memorable…

After checking in, we directly went to discover the “Tunnels of horror” (some of them were recommended for kids from 10 years old) and were surprised by the number of spooky attractions inside…

First, a gigantic spider web with (some) animated spiders…

Then, the encounter with several unfriendly characters…

Clowns are always so creepy, aren’t they?

Lazy bones…

We wandered through the tunnel and were surprised by a still character…who appeared to be a real person among these ones! She managed to get a cry of terror from us when she suddenly moved, followed by a laugh of surprise, she was amazing!

Catch me not if you can!

The kids we saw (sometimes under 10 years old) did not seem to be too bothered by these monsters, whilst we thought they were all really scary (certainly proof of our non-English origins)!

If you like Halloween and want to impress your kids with horrible characters, Cammas Hall Farm is certainly a place they’ll like.

After having had a few scares (and laughs) we went to choose our pumpkins outside.

This was actually massive.
I think I have never seen so many pumpkins around anywhere else!

Big ones, small ones; orange ones, yellow or white ones. Pumpkins for everyone!

Such a playground is obviously perfect for children, who took pleasure in running (and falling) around the pumpkins.

This little one was too cute to spook!

We also met a few charming Instagrammers to pose among the pumpkins…

At this point of the visit, if you’re kids have not had enough, they still can expend their energy at the playground, or have a little snack at the cafe.

Unfortunately, we could not enter the Halloween Maze (closed without explicit reason that day), but we happily left the place with our loot (rather small I admit compared to some other ones, but enough for some carving and a pumpkin soup!).

Merci beaucoup !
