Tower Bridge is on every lip when speaking about London. This iconic bridge has the favor of tourists as well as Londoners due to its location. Tower Bridge is indeed surrounded by some other famous buildings : St Paul’s Cathedral and The Tower of London on one side of the River Thames and the Shard, the Shakespeare Globe (among others) on the other. I personally love taking pictures of Tower Bridge as I found it photogenic plus I love strolling on the Thames riverside…  Here is a guide to make the most of your visit of Tower Bridge, one of the most distinctive bridges in the world!

Iconic building

Tower Bridge Doyouspeaklondon lifestyle blogTower Bridge was built between 1886 and 1894. It is composed by 2 bridge towers tied together at the upper level by two horizontal walkways.
Tower Bridge Doyouspeaklondon lifestyle blogThe bridge deck is accessible to both vehicles and pedestrians free of charge, unlike the bridge’s twin towers, high-level walkways and Victorian engine rooms (being part of the Tower Bridge Exhibition).
Tower Bridge Doyouspeaklondon lifestyle blogTower Bridge is quite spectacular with its bascules able to raise to allow river traffic to pass. I only witnessed it once and this is captivating and moving at the same time. The hustle and bustle of the area is just stopped for a moment until the bridge comes back to its initial position! If you want to make sure you see the Bridge lift, take a look at the times here before visiting.

Merci pour ce post et tous les liens .
J’adore la photo de cet insolent goéland argenté qui semble défier le pont . La Tour de Londres avait ses corbeaux , le Tower Bridge a ses goélands !
