When I discovered that Sketch offers a “Sketch at Home” experience, delivering their iconic afternoon tea straight to your door, I knew this was the perfect opportunity.

The Sketch: London’s iconic artistic retreat
I first discovered Sketch thanks to a birthday treat from a few friends a few years ago, one of my fondest London memories.
Famed for its bold, whimsical interiors and curated art installations, Sketch, located in Mayfair, is as much an artistic experience as it is a culinary one. A feast for the eyes and the palate.
So I had no doubt that this new at-home offering would be just as exceptional, and I was excited to try their afternoon tea menu.
There are five afternoon tea options to suit all kinds of dietary needs: Original, Vegetarian, Vegan, Pescatarian, and Gluten-Free.
I chose two ‘original menus’, each with a different selection of jams, so we could sample them all.
I placed my order online a few days in advance and received a lovely confirmation message.
By Sunday, I could hardly wait to see my family’s faces! Simply asking them to be “dressed up for a special occasion at home” made the whole experience feel delightfully magical, even indoors.
Sketch Afternoon Tea, delivered straight to your door
When the stylish (and so unmistakably distinctive) grey and pink parcel arrived right on time, we couldn’t wait to dive in and discover all the treasures inside!
As I untied the pink ribbon, the kids could hardly contain their excitement.
Taking photos of the parcel and its contents was the perfect excuse to stretch out the anticipation just a little longer…
We first explored the small bags, filled with teas and complimentary hand sanitisers, before opening a charming letter that detailed the menu, including the names and ingredients of every delightful treat.
Everything was so beautifully and delicately packaged. Even knowing what to expect, I was amazed by the thoughtful touches in every pink box and bag. Perfection in every detail!
Gourmet savoury delights
We eagerly opened our ‘pink Sketch jewellery cases,’ and were instantly thrilled by the vibrant, colourful assortment of dishes inside!
Once we had beautifully arranged all the treats on the table, decorated for the occasion, we were finally ready to dive into our much-anticipated tasting.
The Coronation Chicken stood out with its bold, pronounced flavours. A delightful surprise among the sandwiches!
The standout savoury dishes were truly incredible: the Truffle Bun, with its soft, pillowy texture and perfectly seasoned cream filling, and the Egg Gougère, which brought back wonderfully nostalgic flavours.
With the savoury dishes enjoyed, our attention turned to the desserts. The “pièce de résistance” of the afternoon tea.
Exquisite gourmet desserts
Another highlight of this special Afternoon Tea was the dessert platter, showcasing two categories of cakes.
First, the traditional classics: Victoria Sponge, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Scones, which everyone agreed were utterly succulent.
Then came the original desserts: creative, playful, and full of surprises. Among them, I immediately spotted my favourite, the one I couldn’t wait to taste!
Starting with the Cherry Choux Pastry, my top pick! Filled with a tangy mix of raspberry and Amarena cherries, it was pure bliss.
Next, a Chocolate and Coffee Tart, incredibly delicious, with a delicate balance that lets the chocolate and coffee complement each other without one overpowering the other.
Simply divine and my second favourite dessert!
We also discovered some intriguing Lemon Marshmallows: a zesty, playful twist that caught our attention.
I’m usually not a fan of marshmallows, which I often find too sweet and lacking in flavour, but this one was different: incredibly soft, melting in the mouth, and bursting with bright, zesty lemon! A true delight!
A five-star Sunday, if you ask me! The entire (extended) lunch was full of fun, laughter, and delightful surprises, perfectly living up to the high expectations.
It reminded me why quality family time is so precious: escaping the daily routine, sharing new experiences together, and even watching the picky eaters happily discover treats they love!
