When I first stepped into The Ivy Chelsea on a chilly day, I was immediately struck by its warm and inviting atmosphere. Nestled on the iconic King’s Road in the heart of Chelsea, the restaurant is full of charm, boasting a beautiful garden and, of course, amazing food.
Today, DOYOUSPEAKLONDON is taking you inside one of Chelsea’s most iconic dining spots for a truly unforgettable culinary adventure!

One location, three decors
The Ivy Chelsea has three distinct spaces, each with its own vibe. There’s the main brasserie-style room with its “sink-into” sofas, the Orangery greenhouse, and, of course, the garden itself.

On my first visit, my husband and I were seated in the greenhouse, surrounded by lush plants and a cozy log fire. Simply magical!
This spot has quickly become my favourite, romantic in the winter and perfectly exotic in the summer. The garden is equally stunning, with a central fountain, exotic plants all around, and even a fire with blankets to keep you warm in cooler months. Dining here really feels like discovering a hidden gem in the middle of London.

On another visit during the Chelsea Flower Show, we sat in the main indoor restaurant.

I loved the French brasserie style and the vibrant, elegant colours, it’s just the kind of place that feels both classy and welcoming.

A modern British brasserie
The Ivy Chelsea serves a modern British menu with international touches. Everything we tried was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavour.

The seared yellowfin tuna was a standout, with crispy sesame seeds, tender edamame, and a tangy hint of mandarin. The line-caught swordfish was perfectly seasoned with olives, red peppers, lemon, and basil.

On a warm day, the chicken and bacon salad was refreshingly light and satisfying: a perfect balance of taste and texture.
The Chocolate Bomb: a must-try dessert
If you have room for dessert, don’t miss The Ivy’s famous Chocolate Bomb. It’s a showstopper: a sleek black-and-white sphere with a delicate interior.

Pour hot caramel over it, and watch the magic happen as a hidden praline mousse and fizzy elements are revealed. It’s a playful, decadent treat that’s as fun to watch as it is to eat!
This repeated experience was an absolute delight, and I can’t recommend The Ivy Chelsea Garden enough to anyone who enjoys unique atmospheres, beautiful decor, and outstanding food. Just be sure to book your table in advance, you won’t want to miss it!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little tour of The Ivy Chelsea Garden!
