As a devoted fan of viewing platforms, I couldn’t wait to experience The Lookout! I simply waited for the perfect moment (a clear, blue-sky day in London) to make my visit extra special.
Perched on the 50th floor of a sleek skyscraper in The City, The Lookout offers incredible height and perspective, letting you take in breathtaking views of the skyline, iconic landmarks, and the city’s endless charm.
Today, DOYOUSPEAKLONDON invites you to discover The Lookout, a stunning free viewing gallery on the 50th floor of 8 Bishopsgate!

The Lookout London: 50th floor viewing platform
8 Bishopsgate is a 51-story, 204-meter (669 ft) skyscraper right in the heart of London’s financial district, The City. Opened recently (in 2023), it became the 11th-tallest building in London, adding a sleek, modern touch to the city’s iconic skyline.

Right from the start, it boasted a free viewing platform called The Lookout on the 50th floor, perfect for taking in the city without spending a penny!

This is a fantastic opportunity for both Londoners and tourists to experience breathtaking views from such heights and admire the city! It’s similar to other iconic spots like 22 Horizon, Sky Garden, and Garden at 120, which I’ve also covered here. All of them offer FREE amazing views of the capital.

The Lookout London: breathtaking views of the London skyline
I visited The Lookout to soak in some of the most breathtaking panoramic views of London, and it certainly did not disappoint.

Here, you’ll enjoy 180° views of London’s landmarks, including St Paul’s Cathedral, The Shard, the Tower of London, and even Canary Wharf… if you can sneak your head past the reflections!

On a sunny day like when I visited, the views are absolutely perfect!

The Lookout London: lively vibes inside!
When I visited The Lookout, what caught my attention wasn’t the building itself, but the simple, intriguing sight of people inside, quietly framed against the glass high above the city.

People snapping selfies, curious onlookers scanning the streets below for familiar buildings, and excited kids running around with boundless energy…

The atmosphere buzzes with energy, offering endless inspiration for capturing the perfect shot!

I loved watching people move across the platform, all captivated by the stunning views. If you want to soak up the energy of London, this is the perfect spot to visit!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post! If you’re planning to visit The Lookout soon, I’d love to hear about your experience, feel free to share it on the DOYOUSPEAKLONDON!
