Since moving to London, I’ve loved discovering charming farms around the city, especially during autumn, to immerse myself in pumpkin patch adventures.

This season, I discovered Hobbledown Heath in Hounslow, a hidden gem that perfectly combines three autumn experiences in one: a sprawling pumpkin patch, an interactive zoo, and a fun-filled adventure park.

It’s a place where festive fun, family-friendly activities, and the magic of the English countryside all come together!

Falling in love with pumpkin patches

Autumn in England is synonymous with pumpkins, and visiting a pumpkin patch has quickly become one of my favourite seasonal traditions. 

I discovered that the pumpkin patch tradition actually has roots in Halloween celebrations and harvest festivals, dating back centuries in Europe and America, where communities would carve pumpkins, celebrate the harvest, and enjoy seasonal produce. 

There’s something so fun about wandering through a field of bright pumpkins, picking your favourites, and enjoying the crisp autumn air. 🎃🍂

It really gets you in the Halloween spirit (a tradition I’ve come to love since living in England as well). Let me show you what the pumpkin patch is like at Hobbledown Heath…

Pumpkin patch fun at Hobbledown Heath

Of course, the main reason I visited Hobbledown Heath this time was the pumpkin patch itself! I’m always amazed by just how many pumpkins these farms grow…seriously, it’s huge! 🎃

The fields here are full of orange pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, making it easy to find the perfect one to take home.🎃

If you’re after a unique pumpkin, near the entrance there’s a small selection in different colours and shapes, in case you haven’t found exactly the ones you wanted. 

But beyond simply picking your pumpkin, the park offers seasonal games, whimsical photo spots, and autumn-themed activities, making it a truly immersive festive experience. 

It’s especially perfect for toddlers and young children, with safe, hands-on activities and magical autumn displays that capture the imagination!

Everyone around us was clearly having a great time, laughing and enjoying the autumn atmosphere. That’s what I love most about pumpkin patches: the simple joy and festive spirit this tradition brings to people of all ages.

Wild encounters at Hobbledown Heath

Once we’d wandered through the pumpkin patch and snapped a few photos, it was time to meet some furry (and not-so-furry) friends at the zoo. 

From friendly goats and llamas to exotic animals, there’s plenty to see and learn about!

The layout is stroller-friendly, and there are lots of opportunities for hands-on encounters and cute photos!

Walking through the animal trails is fun for toddlers, young kids, and even adults who enjoy spotting all the different creatures.

From pumpkins and animals to playtime magic!

After exploring all the animals and enjoying the zoo trails, it’s time to keep the fun going at the adventure and entertainment area.

This adventure park undoubtedly adds another layer of fun! Hobbledown Heath is packed with activities to keep the whole family entertained.

Kids can bounce on inflatable cushions, climb castles and play structures, and explore playful trails filled with seasonal games.

For those who love a cosy treat, there are fire pits for roasting marshmallows, and plenty of craft activities to spark creativity.

Of course, there are numerous photo spots and festive displays scattered throughout, perfect for capturing fun memories.

Plus, for rainy days or little ones, there’s also a large indoor adventure area full of soft play and climbing structures, ensuring the fun continues no matter the weather.

It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend a whole day exploring, playing, and enjoying the autumn vibes!
