Valentine’s Day is obviously the perfect occasion to spoil your loved one (or even yourself!), indulge, relax, and discover new places, or … simply celebrate it from the comfort of your home sweet home with mouth-watering french pastries delivered to your door by Bluto’s team!
And there’s more: this brand has a venerable passion for artisan bread thus teamed up with an amazing renowned Chef. It also has a true respect for ethical values… everything to make you salivate way beyond Valentine’s day 🙂
Today, DOYOUSPEAKLONDON presents you Bluto, a new way to enjoy fresh & french bread and pastries in West London!
Bluto, ethical bakery straight to your door
Bluto’s adventure started a few months after the pandemic when 3 french friends living in London considered the concept of providing fresh and tasty bread to west Londoners, aiming at spreading a french joie de vivre.
They looked for a trustful and renowned partner, which they found in Joel Robuchon, the French chef and restaurateur also named “Chef of the Century” by the guide Gault Millau in 1989, no less! What motivated this partnership was that “at Robuchon, there is a real reverence for the art of bread making – we know that good bread needs a lot of patience, love and practice”.
In consequence, with Bluto, you have access to a range of artisan bread, brioches, and viennoiseries prepared every day by head baker José Martin at Robuchon bakery, which will make every breakfast feel so special.
Providing West Londoners with fresh and outstanding qualitative bread was the first objective for Bluto’s team.
Next came the respect for environmental values and this is how the Blutomobile appeared (which you can see on the picture above with Bluto’s team): a car that runs on electricity and also keeps your products fresh while they come to yours!
There’s more. Bluto adapted its sustainable values to a British habit consisting of being delivered fresh products in specific containers directly at your doorstep (the most common is certainly the fresh milk delivery with refillable glass bottles).
With Bluto, whenever you choose the recurring order option, you get a complimentary waterproof Blutobag, “which you can leave at your doorstep to take advantage of the drop-off option. The bags ensure your order will stay fresh and safe until you pick it up”.
Let’s now discover a selection of Bluto’s offers…
Artisan bread by La Boulangerie Robuchon
What do you expect from a baguette? A crispy outside with a soft and well-risen inside? Ta-dah! We had a blast devouring this baguette with some french jams!
This Seed Bread is very popular at ours and we love to eat it either with sweet jams or cocoa paste, but it goes also very well with great cheese or Spanish hams :-). Our French roots have clearly resurfaced with this other delicious bread!
I had one of these individual gluten-free bread and really enjoyed the texture: very soft and delicately briochy in taste (in my opinion). Most importantly, it was the contrary of a heavy bread (which you are most likely to find when it’s gluten-free) with a delicious and natural taste. Such a treat!
This Olive baguettine went down a treat too! You can eat it alone as a snack, but also as an accompaniment to cheeses (again!) or charcuterie… Simply divine!
Scrumptious viennoiseries selected by Bluto
I’ll start here with my kids’ favourite viennoiserie: the chouquettes. It was like a Proust Madeleine for them, as they mainly ate these little choux pastries back in France when they were little. So tasty, these 10 chouquettes were eaten in record time!
When it comes to brioche, the “puff pastry” version is THE one you must definitely try. The shape of a beautiful brioche with a texture inside that remembers the croissant. Absolutely succulent and none of us could resist it!
The other classic brioche (above) also met our (demanding) expectations and we appreciated the classic taste of it.
The traditional croissant: a basic that is always welcome with a coffee or even a hot chocolate… A must-have in all great breakfast feasts! We loved it. Flavoursome, flaky as desired…You can’t go wrong with a croissant, can you?
This was my special treat: the cinnamon roll. As a big fan of cinnamon and almonds, I was in awe of this recipe! The texture was delightful and the mix with roasted pecan nuts was amazing, adding some crunchiness to this soft pastry. This one will come back soon!
Special St Valentine’s treat by Bluto
This raspberry heart brioche will definitely cheer everyone up. All ready for sweetness lovers, this brioche is so delicious with the raspberry coulis inside that actually you might not even want to share it!!
