Tea is the perfect companion for any moment. Find your cosiest corner, put the kettle on, and choose a tea that matches your mood. Inhale. Exhale. Everyone deserves a pause to recharge and savour life’s little comforts.
My love for tea is built on curiosity, temptation… and a little obsession! I’ve known Mariage Frères for years, and their luxurious teas have always brightened even the gloomiest days.
DOYOUSPEAKLONDON invites you to discover France’s oldest tea house, which opened its first UK emporium in Covent Garden in 2019. It's a true haven for tea lovers, from delicate infusions to signature blends.

Mariage Frères, French gourmet tea company
Founded in Paris in 1854, Mariage Frères is France’s oldest tea house.

For as long as I can remember, their teas have been a personal reference point for me. I absolutely love their branding and the incredible variety they offer.

The brand boasts over 1,000 teas from 36 tea-producing countries, covering every type imaginable: white, yellow, green, black, blue, red, matured, compressed, crafted, and blended teas. It’s a tea lover’s dream come true.

Choosing a tea can be overwhelming with so many options, but the staff are always friendly and happy to guide you based on your tastes (I must admit, I often end up buying more teas than I need and so far, I haven’t found a way to resist!).

For the full at-home tea experience, Mariage Frères offers all the accessories you need for preparing, storing, and tasting tea the way the French Art of Tea intends.
And just look at those beautiful, elegant pieces, they’re almost as delightful as the tea itself!

The moment you step into this tea haven, every item feels utterly irresistible!
Experience Mariage Frères Tea in Covent Garden

In early 2019, Mariage Frères opened its first UK tea emporium in Covent Garden, featuring a shop, an upstairs tea room, and even a small museum.

The location was a natural choice: Covent Garden is one of London’s liveliest and most stylish areas, buzzing with art, culture, and fashion. It perfectly reflects Mariage Frères’ philosophy, as the brand is not just about tea, but an entire “art de vivre” centered around tea.

While browsing the main menu, I was intrigued by the “Cuisine au Thé” and decided to head upstairs to the tearoom for lunch.

I chose the Kale and Halloumi Salad flavoured with Paris‑Provence Tea. Simple yet delightful: fresh, summery ingredients, bold flavours, and a perfect balance of sweet and salty from the fruits, halloumi, and greens.

The addition of the tea was a lovely touch, enhancing both the taste and presentation.

Mariage Frères also caters to every sweet tooth, offering a full range of gourmet, tea‑inspired creations, from chocolates and biscuits to sablés, gelées, and delicate tea-infused desserts.

I won’t list them all (they’re too tempting!), but know that Mariage Frères offers takeaway in London for both tea and desserts. The brand even confirms that their online shop can deliver orders worldwide in no time!
